Hi
Last weekend, part of our group was very busy. On the occasion of the National Day of "Soldiers accursed"*, LHG First To Fight has been asked to help in the ceremonial opening of the exhibition of the Institute of National Remembrance. In the UK,there isn't many Polish groups, and exhibition of such as this one are rare, because of that we felt honored. We didn't have a lot of time to prepare, we had less than five weeks, from notification to us from the main organizer Mr. Janusz Wajda to the ceremony . As usual, we started from going through a lot of books and pictures, it cost us a lot of stress especially regarding orders with some Polish shops. Finally, two days before the March 1st we received the last parcel from the shop. The first of March, wearing the uniforms and ammo for the first time, we decided to take the opportunity to take some pictures. The result is the album in 1946. Courtesy of State Aleksandra and Wieslaw Rogalski could do them in the right place . We had the opportunity once again to watch exhibition on the post-war fate of the Polish Army Forces in the West, under the Polish Resettlement Corps. About twelve o'clock we were in the Polish Social and Cultural Association in London. Lunch, a moment of rest, and then the grand opening of the exhibition. The door to the President of the Association of Former Army Soldiers Marzena Szejbal and Zaporczyk** Mr. Marian Pawełczak "mulberry" door opening by Pawel and Dawid . Support provided us to come especially for this occasion members of the Association of Lublin Reconstruction Group "Front" , who performed guard duty at the wheel banners Army. At the ceremony we had " our " veterans from the Association of Former Soldiers 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division , Kazimiera Janota Bzowska , Stefan Mączka and Franciszek Szuta. When exhibition was opened we had a chance to talk to them about current issues. Another highlight was a lecture by Leszek Zebrowski , then Dr. Ewa Kurek. We had a few minutes to represent the Polish community for our group. The event was finished with an artistic part. We were invited by 'Patriae Fidelis' for dinner where the day has finished . On Sunday we went to Mass for the intention of the anti-communist insurgency , which for the first tie took place in the garrison church St.Andrew Bobola led by priest pastor Marek Reczek. In the evening we went to a lecture by Dr. Wojciech Frazika of IPN***. That's how we ended our March weekend.

* The cursed soldiers (that is, "accursed soldiers" or "damned soldiers"; Polish: Żołnierze wyklęci) is a name applied to a variety of Polish resistance movements formed in the later stages of World War II and afterwards. Created by some members of the Polish Secret State, these clandestine organizations continued their armed struggle against the Stalinist government of Poland
